Wednesday Divine
A 40-mile loop following the Roaster's route. The first few climbs are warmup-pace, then it's game on. A great midweek option for strong riders.
About This Ride
The Wednesday Divine follows the exact same route as the Saturday Roasters ride but with a slightly different format. The first portion of the ride is ridden at a warmup pace, giving everyone a chance to get the legs moving. But once the group hits the main climbs, the pace ramps up significantly and it becomes every rider for themselves.
This two-phase structure makes the Wednesday Divine a favorite for riders who want the intensity of the Roasters ride without the all-out-from-the-gun approach of Saturday. It's also a great training ride: the warmup phase lets you save energy for hard efforts on the climbs, simulating race-day pacing.
The 9:21 AM start time is a quirky tradition. Don't be late - the group rolls on time.
Tips
- The 9:21 start time is not a typo - the group rolls precisely at 9:21
- The warmup phase lasts through the first few rollers, then expect a significant pace increase
- This is the same route as Saturday Roasters - use Wednesday to preview the course at a more manageable effort
- Bring cash for coffee at Java Hut before the ride
- The group tends to be smaller than Saturday, which means more drafting work
